We continue our series on the growth plans of Ahlers Logistics in Southeast Asia. In today’s interview Tuan Nguyen, Business Development Manager, shares insights on project logistics challenges and opportunities in the region.

Ahlers Logistics was tasked to transport materials from Italy as part of a project for the replacement of Converter No. 1 at the integrated steelworks within AG der Dillinger Hüttenwerke in Dillingen, Germany. The new converter will have a 200-tonne tapping weight and will be designed to meet the objective of being able to continue their high-performance steelmaking operation over a long and safe campaign.

Climate neutrality is on top of the agenda for industries across the globe. thyssenkrupp Steel has set sights on a new era in Duisburg as it targets climate-neutral steel production by 2024. As part of its plant transformation project, the company has contracted Danieli to develop and implement a digital system for slab storage and management at Duisburg-Bruckhausen, Germany. The solution would ensure a proper flow of steel from caster to hot-strip mill, and slab delivery to customers.
